Registration

Registration Policy

Registration for the session is on a first come, first served basis for completed applications. Your application must be complete for it to be processed fully. If your application is not complete, there will be delays in processing it, which may result in you not obtaining a spot in the session, even if you already paid for the course. To ensure that your application is processed correctly, you must complete the placement test (both the written and oral components) prior to registering in the session, unless you have attended one or both previous two sessions.

If you register before having completed both parts of the test, and you aren’t able to complete the test before the session starts, resulting in not having a placement in time, then we will cancel your registration and reimburse you the tuition fee, with a $20 administrative fee.

The assessment is divided into a written component that students can complete online here and, after that, students can book an appointment for a quick oral assessment here. The oral test will be done over the phone.

Even if you have no previous experience in French, please fill out the first part of the written test so that your results are on file.

Please note that oral test times fill up quickly.

Your registration in the session is only confirmed once you have received an email with the subject line “Confirmation of your registration – {Level} – {Day} – {Time} – Halifax”.

Attendance Policy

Students are allowed to miss as many as 3 classes per session. If you miss more than 3, a one-time only make-up class, in a course of the same or a similar level, can be offered. It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of how many classes they have missed.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

You can cancel your registration, with a $20 administration fee, until 9 a.m. on the second Monday of the session. After that date, we will not accept cancellations.

Holidays

There will be no class on Monday, February 16th. To make up for this class, 15 minutes will be added to each Monday class. Any additional make-up classes will take place between March 23rd and April 3rd.
