Conversation Circles Online

This program is offered to students who would like to be able to practice their French conversation skills. It includes a weekly hour of guided conversation with an instructor for 5 weeks. A new topic will be taught every week and will help students to improve their confidence in speaking and their vocabulary.

Beginner*, Intermediate, Advanced and Perfectionnement levels are offered. Three timeslots are available for students to choose from: 12-1pm, 4-5pm, and 6:30-7:30pm. All times are in Atlantic time.

*Please note that Beginner conversation circles are not offered to complete beginners – students need to have basic knowledge of the language to be able to attend.

Students who are registering for the first time must complete an assessment of their French skills before registering for the session. The assessment is divided into a written component that students can complete online and, after that, students can book an appointment for a quick oral assessment here.

If you are in the Beginner 103 to Intermediate 101 level, you could take the Beginner Conversation Circle.

If you are in the Intermediate 102 to Advanced 101 level, you could take the Intermediate Conversation Circle.

If you are in the Advanced 102 to Perfectionnement 101 level, you could take the Advanced Conversation Circle.

If you are in the Perfectionnement 102 to Perfectionnement 104 level, you could take the Perfectionnement Conversation Circle.

Use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the classroom

Please note that the use of AI tools to record the class is not permitted. Only the teacher is permitted to record the class, using the recording feature of the Teams video call. The teacher is only permitted to do this if all students agree to have the class recorded.
