Test d'évaluation de français (TEF Canada) - Compréhension orale et expression orale
Université Sainte-Anne is a certified centre for the Test d’évaluation de français (TEF).
TEF Canada has been designated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and Québec’s Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) for all economic immigration programs that require, or accept, proof of language skills.
TEF Canada results are also considered acceptable proof for Canadian citizenship applications.
Important: the TEF must be taken in person at our Halifax Campus.
Sessions
On the day of the session, you'll need to bring your TEF invitation and the ID you provided on the registration form.
The TEF takes place from 9:15 am to 12:00 pm at our Halifax campus (100-5657, Spring Garden Rd) :
- 9:15-9:30 am: photos and signatures
- 9:30-10:15 am: listening comprehension (on cumputer)
- 10:20 am-12:00 pm: oral expression (approximately 30 mn for each candidate)

Test results
After finishing your test, you will receive a certificate of completion. Each certificate is detailed and personalized. For each test, it gives you: the number of points obtained, the level reached and a commentary on your current skills in general French.
You will receive your certificate within two (2) to four (4) weeks. Results are valid for two (2) years.
No diploma is required to take the TEF Canada test. You can take the test more than once, provided you wait 30 days before retaking the test.
